Earn the angle.
The obvious shot is the obvious shot. The work begins where most photographers stop walking.
In Motion Photography Lakeland · Florida About
Rob Neal · Founder, In Motion Photography
In Motion Photography is the studio of Rob Neal, based in Lakeland and working throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond.
The studio's instinct for unusual angles wasn't a marketing decision — it's where Rob started. Long before this was a profession, he found himself on mountainsides and in places most people never reach, camera in hand, documenting what he saw because he couldn't help it.
In 2021, he turned that instinct into a studio. The work hasn't changed much since: he'll climb, kneel, wait, or fly — whatever the frame asks of him.
Today the studio offers traditional photography, cinematic videography, and aerial drone work for weddings, brands, real estate, and commercial clients across Florida. The toolkit shifts with the assignment; the standard does not. Every shoot is captured, edited, and delivered by Rob himself — no handoffs, no outsourced editors, no template-driven turnarounds.
Mile markers
Pre-2021
Rob photographed his own travels and found himself climbing or hiking to the angle most people drove past.
2021
Studio formally opens in Lakeland, FL — focused on photography from the start, with videography and aerial added as the work demanded each.
2023–24
FAA Part 107 certification active. Drone work folded into the studio's standard offering — non-LiDAR, visual cinematography only.
2024
Major series across Lakeland's Frank Lloyd Wright campus, downtown architecture, Bonnet Springs Park, and the Tampa skyline.
2025
Rainbow River, Weeki Wachee, and the Florida springs network — alongside multi-day event coverage at Sun N Fun and other regional festivals.
Ongoing
Costa Rica, Hawaii, Utah — and the next country on the calendar. Travel and destination work are core to the practice, not a side project. The studio routinely commissions abroad for weddings, hospitality, and editorial assignments.
2026
Open commissions for Q3 / Q4 — weddings, brand films, hospitality, aerial work, and destination travel commissions across Florida and beyond.
Operating principles
The obvious shot is the obvious shot. The work begins where most photographers stop walking.
Better to wait an extra hour for the right light than to deliver a thousand frames that all feel the same.
Every project is shot, edited, and delivered personally. No assistant edits, no template-driven turnarounds.
Stills, video, or aerial — the toolkit shifts with what the assignment actually needs, not what's easiest to bill.
